Paris

Well I read interestingly enough on MSNBC that the city of Paris is not going to give the key of the city to Tom Cruise. People in Paris view sciencetology as a cult and not a religion there for they are baring him from the honor of the keys. I guess I am still just conservitive enought to agree with the majority of Paris.
I actually tried to read a Ron L. Hubbard novel, needless to say it was the worst science fiction that I have ever read and why someone would want to follow a "religion" based upon what Hubbard thought up is beyond me. Sciencetology overall is just silly ramblings that don't make sense. My question is that if Tom Cruise has had enough time to "examin" psychology then why hasn't he taken the time to examin his religious belifes? If psychology can be denounced as a pseuod science, what can sciencetology be classified under, or is it as the "Back in Black" segment on The Daily Show stated a few weeks ago "Sciencetology has science in the name" there for unlike psychology its got to be science.
O well an unfortunate day for Cruise, but a good day for Paris :)

Olivia update - she's doing well just a little fussy we are still trying to figure out what foods effect her and what don't. Hopefully she will sleep through the night tonight.

Theology vs. Scripture

I've been doing some thinking. I've been apart of and have been watching the discussion taking place on Locust and Honey on the General conference. I did post some statements but recently a relatively short discussion on homosexuality has surfaced. Now this is a hot button issue for pretty much everyone but there were a few issues I had with the various points that were given, as well as some thoughts on what is happening in the church right now around this issue. First off, I was struck by the insistence that the church needs to be open and affirming. I am not making any claims on whether this is right or wrong but the church has never in its history been an "open and affirming" organization.
