Our First Major Snow

Well here in Pa. on the 8th it snowed. Not a huge amount only about 4-5 inches but the big deal with this snow is that it is the first major snow that we have had as a family. Katie dressed Olivia up as a little pink snow monster then we went out and just jumped into the snow. I of course have no problem just getting down into the snow, Katie on the other hand prefered kneeling, poor Olivia could bearly move if she wanted to.

Friday the 9th was the best. Katie normally works at the school that day so since school was cancelled we spent time relaxing. Katie played Christmas songs on the piano while Olivia played in her walker and I did the dishes. Suprisingly over all it was very relaxing. Here some pics from that day it will be a memory I will always treasure. This pic is of our third day eating cereal. Katie caught it, I was in class, she said everytime Olivia ate a bite she would look up and smile

This is one of the few family photos we have so far. This is all of us for our first time together in the snow.

Warning: Do not play in swing after long day of playing outside. May cause sudden drowsyness and falling asleep at the toy.

Theology vs. Scripture

I've been doing some thinking. I've been apart of and have been watching the discussion taking place on Locust and Honey on the General conference. I did post some statements but recently a relatively short discussion on homosexuality has surfaced. Now this is a hot button issue for pretty much everyone but there were a few issues I had with the various points that were given, as well as some thoughts on what is happening in the church right now around this issue. First off, I was struck by the insistence that the church needs to be open and affirming. I am not making any claims on whether this is right or wrong but the church has never in its history been an "open and affirming" organization. This is just a statement of fact, and I find it quite interesting that most people claim that the Methodist church needs to be open and affirming when I believe that John Wesley would not have been. Stewardship Prayer

Scripture: 1 Kings 19:1-13 Central Verse: “…but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a sound of sheer silence.
